Establishment of APPPC ePhyto Working Group

During the APPPC Workshop on Building Understanding and Preparedness for Electronic Phytosanitary Certification it was agreed to establish the APPPC ePhyto Working Group.

Purpose of the working group

The aim of the APPPC ePhyto Working Group is to ensure the development and implementation of ePhyto solutions throughout the Asia/Pacific region that are consistent with the IPPC.

Membership

Membership will consist of representatives from countries within the APPPC regions who have or are developing ePhyto solutions. Participating countries will nominate a principle ePhyto contact who will be the Working Group member. A secondary ePhyto contact may be nominated to provide support to the principle Working Group member.

Participating countries at present are: Australia China Indonesia Japan Rep of Korea Malaysia Philippines and Thailand. Australia has accepted the initial chair position with Korea offering vice-chair support.

It is open to other countries to participate in the working group.
