The Plant Protection Agreement for Asia and Pacific Region is an intergovernmental treaty and administered by the Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC). One of the key objectives of the Commission is to promote exchange of information about plant protection among its member countries. It is in the interest of all members to play an active role in such information exchange. In compliance with a resolution adopted at the 26th Session held in New Delhi in September 2009, APPPC Secretariat has developed this website as a forum for the member countries to exchange information regularly about their plant quarantine, pest and pesticide management activities as well as other issues related to plant protection. It is strongly believed that with the increasing flow of quality information and sharing of valuable plant protection experiences among its members, the region as a whole will not only avoid costly pitfalls but also will benefit greatly in terms of more effective plant protection policies and more efficient methods in addressing their pest and pesticide problems.
