Description

This regional standard for phytosanitary measures provides guidance to assist National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs) in assessing whether fumigators can undertake fumigations effectively and can provide an approved service. The standard also outlines in appendices the general principles of fumigation and general procedures for fumigation.

This standard was endorsed by the 28th Session of Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC) in September 2013.

Regional standards for phytosanitary measures are developed and adopted by APPPC as part of the plant protection programme of the Commission’s contracting parties. This programme makes available to contracting and other interested parties regional standards for phytosanitary measures to support regional harmonization, with the aim to facilitate trade and avoid the use of unjustifiable measures as barriers to trade.
