Description

Pursuant to the 26th Session of APPPC, it was agreed that a detailed guideline on import procedures from SALB endemic countries be developed for the region. Malaysia then hosted a workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 13-17 December 2010 to develop detailed guidelines on the prevention of introduction of SALB of Rubber. The workshop was attended by thirty nine participants from ten countries within the Asia and Pacific region. A few recommendations were made by the workshop as follow up action and one of them is for Malaysia to continue to lead the Working Group on SALB to prepare a draft frame programme for the publication of reference materials. The activities would include:(i) To collect and edit reference materials for publication, and (ii) To develop training programme. Given the task to continue to lead the working group on SALB, Malaysia organized a workshop to develop training programme and reference materials for protection against SALB in Malacca, Malaysia, from 21-25 November 2011.
